Salmonella that Killed Dozens of Dogs, Sickened 14 People

So far, at least 5 people have been hospitalized by Salmonella poisoning. It is believed that tainted dog food is the colporate. 14 people from around 9 different states have reported symptoms. It can be contracted from handling infected dog food then not properly washing hands before eating. “Our folks are really wanting people to be aware of it. They want to be aware  that this is causing people to get sick because they may have product in their  homes. For every one that is reported, there may be 29 others,” said CDC spokeswoman Lola Russell. In 2005, aflatoxin, a toxic mold, was found in food made at the same Diamond  Pet Foods plant in South Carolina, which resulted in the death of dozens of dogs. Fox News reported, “the company offered a  $3.1 million settlement. The Food and Drug Administration determined the deadly  fungus likely got into the plant when it failed to test 12 shipments of corn. The recall covers a number of pet food brands made at the Gaston plant,  including Canidae, Natural Balance, Apex, Kirkland, Chicken Soup for the Pet  Lover’s Soul, Country Value, Diamond, Diamond Naturals, Premium Edge,  Professional, 4Health and Taste of the Wild.”

Dentist Removes Teeth of Ex

Anna Mackowiak, 34, was treating a toothache for her ex-boyfriend, Marek  Olszewski, 45, only a few days after being dumped. Mackowiak started the treatment professionally, but changed her game plan after seeing Olszewski lying in the chair. Olszewski received a massive dose of anesthetic while Mackowiak allegedly took out all of his teeth. His jaw was wrapped in bandages so he could not open his mouth. Olszewski didn’t find out the full extent of his dental work until he went home and looked in the mirror. Fox News states, “Olszewski said he plans to get implants, but his new girlfriend was so  unnerved by his toothless mouth that she left him.” Mackowiak is under investigation and could face up to 3 years in prison.

A Seattle, WA Weekend Adventure

Last weekend I went on a family vacation to Seattle. I absolutely LOVE Seattle! It is one of my favorite cities, and I always leave wanting more. This was Zoey’s first visit there, and she absolutely loved it too. We stayed at the Four Seasons hotel which is right in the heart of downtown Seattle. We tried to fit as much in as possible. We went to the Aquarium, Zoo, Space Needle, Children’s Museum, Pike’s Place Market (more than once), and so much more! Here are some pictures from the trip.

Bollywood Actress Beheaded by Two Fellow Actors

Bollywood actress, Meenakshi Thapar, went on a vacation with fellow actors, Amit Jaiswal and Preeti Surin. She was then reportedly kidnapped and ransomed for $50,000. Thapar’s mother inserted some of the money into the account, but the actress was killed anyway. The suspects were threatening to force Thapar to participate in the production of pornography. They strangled and beheaded her. Thapar’s head was thrown off of a bus traveling towards Mumbai, and the body was chopped up and thrown into a water tank. The suspects were captured by Thapar’s mobile phone, and admitted to the killing.

Zookeeper Crushed By Elephant

An unidentified woman was sat on and crushed to death by an elephant she cared for. The 39-year-old elephant, named Mila, and also known as Jumbo, is the only elephant at the Franklin Zoo in Tuakau, 30 miles south of Auckland. The local authorities reported, “a person was attacked by one of the animals, by an elephant.” Mila has spent most of her life traveling with the Whirling Circus Brothers, and was housed in 2008. The next of kin are being contacted.

Limbless Man Plans to Connect World by Swimming around the World

Two years ago, Philippe Croizon, 44, was the limbless man to swim the English Channel. In 4 months, his goal is to connect the world by swimming between 5 continents. Croizon plans to symbolically link the world with friend, Arnaud Chassery. “That means that we’re going to bring them together. Which means no one is very  far from each other. So even if we have different political opinions, or skin  colors, or even with our disabilities, we all live on the same planet. And  that’s the clear message we want to send.” They will start this Northern Hemisphere Summer between Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, in May. The entire swim will leave the two friends in the water for approximately 44 hours. Croizon uses prosthetic limbs and fins, that are attached to his stumps. In 1994, he lost his limbs after being electrocuted while changing a TV antenna.

9-Year-Old Eats Marijuana-laced Brownie

A suspected Washington drug dealer has been arrested, when authorities were suspicious of a 9-year old girl being taken to the hospital after eating brownies. The man had put marijuana-laced brownies into a cookie jar at his estranged girlfriend’s house, where the little girl found and ate them. Child Protective Services has become involved, and both the Mother and estranged Boyfriend have been arrested. Police found 117 pot plants and baggies of processed marijuana and steroids, at the suspect’s house.

TSA Suspected of Treating 4-year-old like a “Terrorist”

Michelle Brademeyer from Missoula, MO had posted allegations on her Facebook page of the TSA treating her daughter unfairly for continually crying and even asked her to “spread her legs.” At the Wichita Mid-Continent Airport, the girl had seen her Grandmother cross a checkpoint, but set the alarm off and needed to be re-scanned. The child ran over to hug the Grandmother and the officer began yelling at her and demanded she sat down. Then he reportedly called for back up and did a full body pat down on the little girl. Michelle was denied being able to comfort her upset daughter during the ordeal. Rep. Denny Rehberg (R-MT) stated that he is outraged over her treatment. “Something is clearly very wrong if TSA’s protocol forced them to harass a four-year-old girl until she cried,” Rehberg said. “I intend to sit down with the TSA immediately and demand some answers.” The TSA defended the actions by saying they were following protocol. “TSA has reviewed the incident and determined that our officers followed proper current screening procedures in conducting a modified pat-down on the child,” said Sterling Payne, of the TSA Office of Public Affairs. As a result, the young girl and the entire family is horrified by this event, as they should be.

Washington State Manhunt, Man Suspected of Killing Family and Pets

King County has reported that a husband, Peter Keller, 41, is the prime suspect for the murders of his wife, 41, daughter, 19, and the 2 family pets. The family members were shot from close range and trapped inside a burning house. They also found a dog and cat shot dead. “This is a crime of almost unbelievable evil,” said King County Sheriff Steve  Strachan. Keller has not been able to be contacted as of yet. He has been described as 5’5″, 150lbs, and considered an avid hiker. If you see this man contact the authorities and do not try to persue him. He is considered armed and dangerous.

This is yet another example of teachers giving the education system a bad name. Teachers are supposed to be leaders and help show students responsibility. They need to be able to set examples, not use them to sell their drugs.
