Limbless Man Plans to Connect World by Swimming around the World

Two years ago, Philippe Croizon, 44, was the limbless man to swim the English Channel. In 4 months, his goal is to connect the world by swimming between 5 continents. Croizon plans to symbolically link the world with friend, Arnaud Chassery. “That means that we’re going to bring them together. Which means no one is very  far from each other. So even if we have different political opinions, or skin  colors, or even with our disabilities, we all live on the same planet. And  that’s the clear message we want to send.” They will start this Northern Hemisphere Summer between Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, in May. The entire swim will leave the two friends in the water for approximately 44 hours. Croizon uses prosthetic limbs and fins, that are attached to his stumps. In 1994, he lost his limbs after being electrocuted while changing a TV antenna.
